Award-winning Illustration of Glutamatergic Synapse
Molecular view of glutamatergic synapse by RCSB PDB's Maria Voigt was selected as a national finalist in the 2021 Wiki Science Competition in the United States.
This illustration highlights spherical pre-synaptic vesicles that carry the neurotransmitter glutamate, and the pre-synaptic and post-synaptic membranes are shown with proteins relevant for transmitting and modulating the neuronal signal.
